An iconic fashion model in the 1960s, Benedetta Barzini was the muse to artists such as Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Irving Penn and Richard Avedon. In the 1970s she embraced radical feminism and became a writer and a keen and nonconformist lecturer, teaching fashion anthropology at academic institutions in an endless struggle with a system that, in her views, promotes the objectification and exploitation of women.
